Those of you who know me will not be surprised by this post, but I like food. I like to taste it, I like to cook it, I like to experiment with it and then most of all, I like to eat it, lunch especially.
Lunch accounts for 1/8th of your working week, that’s about 9.5 days a year, and if you work for 50 years, 1.3 years, which is a sizeable chunk of your life to spend wisely.
I’ve learnt not to eat a sandwich unless I’ve seen it being made, preferably by me, after a particularly gross experience years ago involving watching a grubby man in Woking make my sandwich, and then finding one of those blue plasters hiding underneath some ham as I was halfway through the thing.
Health and Safety accidents aside though, what I think is equally important is not eating lunch sat in front of my screen over a 5 minute breather. Enjoying mealtimes with your fellow friends and co-workers is an essential part of enjoying life and work. Sharing the excitement of projects, bonding, and enjoying some good food together cannot be underestimated in bringing a team together. I understand this philosophy is common amongst scandinavian agencies like Farfar. I wonder if it will ever catch on in blighty?
Here at WEIR+WONG HQ, we’ve even taken to planning what we’re going to eat, which I’m loving. In preparation for the week ahead, I have prepared today a delicious garlic, lemon and rosemary roast chicken that see will action in several dripping blue-plaster specials, and I think we may see some Brindisa picante Chorizo taking one for the team later in the week. Join the revolution! Step away from your screen!

Busy Little Bees
Well – it’s been nearly 5 months of WEIR+WONG and we’ve barely had time to take a breather! We’ve been doing some great work for these great clients (and some clients we can’t mention!) and having a lot of fun on the way. Onwards…
